Founder of Coyote Sun Productions (CSP), a Chicago-based film production company, and former program director for NHK, Solomon currently works as a film producer, collaborating with filmmakers to create socially themed films. In 2020, Solomon co-produced an innovative feature documentary MAYDAY directed by MARIKO Tetsuya. Solomon also participated in the Mariko’s Japan-US co-production COYOTE, which was produced in Chicago and Tokyo in 2020 and was released in theaters in the fall of 2021. She collaborated as a producer from the U.S. on a film LIGHTNING OVER THE BEYOND by HANNO Yoshihiro and BOFORE ANYONE ELSE with Mariko in 2022. CSP is passionate about building bridges between Japanese and American culture through film, and with a view toward future distribution of indie Japanese films in North America, Solomon co-founded the Chicago Japan Film Collective, the first Japanese film festival in the Midwest in May 2021.
